Boxing Promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank has said that WBC super featherweight champ Manny Pacquiao will indeed move up in weight to the lightweight limit of 135-pounds. He will challenge WBC lightweight champ David Diaz, also promoted by Top Rank, on June 28 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
On Saturday night in Las Vegas Nevada, Pacquiao won a close splitdecision over Juan Manuel Marquez to capture the super featherweight title. He suffered a bad cut on his right eyelid. If the cut does not heal in time for the June date, the fight will probably move to a date in July. The fight is expected to land on HBO pay per view.
